The Battle Book - A Genealogy of the Battle Family in America by Herbert Bemerton Battle, Lois Yelverton, and William James Battle was published in 1930.  In 2001, George Hackney Eatman published The Battle Book Updated, to provide current information on James Smith Battle (1786-1854) and descendants.  The goal for this website is 1) Provide online access to the original The Battle Book, 2) to keep the James Smith Battle genealogy updated and provide instant access to the information, and 3) provide links to Battle related information. The threat of identity theft prevents open access to the updated genealogy tables.  Therefore, the genealogy tables in the Battle Book Updated are password protected.  For now, George Eatman will distribute the password to Battle relatives and friends.  If you would like the password, send an email to thebattlebook@gmail.com. The information is divided into four parts: 1) The Battle Book Online, 2) Main Section of The Battle Book Updated, 3) Complete “The Battle Book Updated” with 3 updated genealogy tables, and 4) Pictures for the 3 updated genealogy tables. On the next web page, click on a chapter to download, the key to the genealogy tables, a group of genealogy tables, or the entire book at the bottom of the page.
